Yellowcake Mining (YCKM) is closing in on U.S. uranium production by way of the drill. The company just announced the completion of 40 exploratory drill-holes totaling over 13,000 feet at its Jeep Uranium Project, Wyoming. The Jeep property comprises nearly 2,000 prime acres situated in the prolific Gas Hills Uranium District – the second-largest uranium producing area in the United States with total production of over 100 million pounds.
A recently-completed independent geological report on the Jeep property produced an indicated mineral resource estimate of over 480,000 pounds U3O8 with an additional 168,000 pounds classified as an inferred mineral resource. This could be worth over $50 million at current uranium prices. Yellowcake’s current drilling successfully extended the existing mineralized zone by approximately 1,000 feet into previously unexplored ground. The primary target zone has now been divided into three distinct mineralized horizons, all of which have the potential to develop recoverable uranium.
These latest results signal the beginning of what could prove to be a significant U.S. uranium discovery for Yellowcake Mining: based on the latest drilling data, YCKM expects to calculate a new uranium resource and to conduct additional drilling on the Jeep property to expand the area of known mineralization.
Yellowcake Mining (YCKM) is preparing to drill its even larger Sky Uranium Project, also located in the Gas Hills Uranium District, which contains an indicated mineral resource estimate of over 948,000 pounds – or up to $80 million at current commodity prices. Both the Jeep and Sky properties are considered advanced-stage uranium development projects -- Yellowcake Mining expects to achieve near-term U3O8 production.
